Liverpool Target Alonso Has Confirmed that He is staying at Bayer Leverkusen

In an attempt to replace departing manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool had planned to bring in Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. However, Fabrizio Romano has now officially announced that he would remain with the Bundesliga team.

After an outstanding season with Leverkusen, the Reds identified Alonso as one of their main objectives in their search for a new manager.
